In 1992 the Russian affiliate was founded as a representative office of Brocades BV, a Dutch Pharmaceutical company, employing 3 people only. In march1994 Brocades BV was changed to Yamanouchi Europe B.V. and ZAO Yamanouchi Pharma - Russian legal entity - was set up. The volume of business was constantly growing and after establishing Astellas in 2005 the company total staff was 250. Astellas Russia is also responsible for the business in CIS countries: Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
